OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
ELIGIBILITY
The ticket purchaser and anyone to whom a ticket purchaser legally transfers a ticket to must be an individual 18 years or older at the time of ticket purchase. Only one (1) individual may be identified as the purchaser (or buyer) of the raffle ticket. Tickets may be purchased from Members of the Lenox Fire Company. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure that accurate first name, last name, a valid deliverable mailing address, current email address, and contact phone number are provided. Lenox Fire Company and its respective board, staff, volunteers, representatives, and members shall have NO liability for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible tickets or tickets without proper payment received, in which case tickets shall be deemed in-valid and shall be immediately disqualified.
By entering the Raffle, the ticket purchaser acknowledges that he or she is aware of, and agrees to abide by, the Official Rules and Regulations. All winners, as a condition to receipt of their prize, will be asked to provide their name address, and social security as the same may be applicable and required by Massachusetts law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations shall apply to this raffle.
PRIZES
A full description of the Prizes and its appraised value is attached hereto. There will be 12 separate prize drawings held during the month of July 2025.
All prizes are available for inspection/viewing starting on June 1, 2025 upon request.
DRAWING
Raffle tickets (1000 maximum) are numbered from 001 through 1000.
The last three digits from “The Numbers Game” Midday drawing of the Massachusetts State Lottery will determine the winner with the corresponding ticket number for that date.
In the event that the winning number corresponds to an unsold ticket, the last three digits from “The Numbers Game” evening drawing will be used. If that number also corresponds to an unsold ticket the two numbers from the midday and evening drawings will be added together of which the last three digits of that sum will determine the winner. The evening number will continue to be added as many times as necessary to result with a sold ticket number.
No Lenox Fire Company Raffle Organizer or immediate family member who has been directly involved in the promotion or operation of the raffle shall be permitted to purchase tickets to the raffle or win a prize.
COST OF A TICKET
Each ticket costs $20.00USD, and there is no limit on the number of tickets a single individual can purchase. The more tickets you purchase, the more chances you have to win! Raffle Tickets will be sold between the dates of May 1, 2025 and June 30, 2025. All sales are final.
All net proceeds raised in the 2025 Lenox Fire Company ‘Multiple Alarm Raffle’ are used to support the services of Lenox Fire Company and their community endeavors, including the high school Scholarship program. The Raffle proceeds due not benefit the Lenox Fire Department, which receives funding from the Town of Lenox. The minimum number of raffle tickets sold for this event are 300, and the maximum number of tickets sold will be 1,000.
Tickets can be sold by check and/or cash only when a member of the Lenox Fire Company or its volunteers are able to correctly record all applicable information. Any amount paid towards purchase of a raffle ticket(s) does not qualify for tax deductions.
NOTIFICATION OF WINNER
The Prize winner will be notified in writing or by phone of the prize won and any requisite procedure to claim the prize. Winners will also be posted on the Lenox Fire Companies Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/people/Lenox-Fire-Companies/100091820198154/?paipv=0&eav=Afa6T8WIkL0Oy9hz56pVEvQs3upUoTOt52M3steHCOGqskKrbraSFi5kwEKNkLYIn4o&_rdr). Winner(s) shall have Thirty (30) calendar days from notification of winning, to inform Lenox Fire Companies of his/her acceptance. If a Prize is not claimed within 45 days of the raffle drawing the Prize shall be sold or donated by Lenox Fire Company in its sole discretion; any sale proceeds will be donated to the Lenox Fire Company.
TAXES AND REGULATIONS
The value of the prize will be treated as ordinary income to the winner for federal and state income tax purposes and the winner may be required to pre-pay a portion of the tax liability prior to receiving the prize.
The Internal Revenue Service takes the position that no portion of the ticket price will qualify as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes.
Prize Winner will be responsible for taxes, such as income or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like
charges associated with the prize.
Ticket purchasers by entering the 2025 Lenox Fire Company ‘Multiple Alarm Raffle’ acknowledge the prizes are sold AS IS. If applicable all manufacturer’s warranties shall be transferred to the winner.
Ticket purchasers by entering the 2025 Lenox Fire Company ‘Multiple Alarm Raffle’ releases and waive any claims against 2025 Lenox Fire Company ‘Multiple Alarm Raffle’ Committee and its participating members, The Lenox Fire Company, Inc., its officers, directors, members, and volunteers, including advertising, public relations, direct marketing, and promotion agencies, for any and all liability with respect to participation in the promotion and possession or use of the prize awarded and also acknowledge that they did not receive any representations, warranty or guarantee, express or implied, in fact, or in law, relative to any prize,
including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness. Any liability of Lenox Fire Company shall be limited to the ticket price paid and in the case of any dispute, Lenox Fire Company’s decision shall be final. Lenox Fire Company reserves the right to modify or amend the Official Rules and Regulations without notice at any time.
